In 1999 as a college student at Utah State University, Chad Carlson opened his first cellular phone store under the name Advantage Wireless. Selling nearly every carrier, the small company grew to a handful of locations until 2004 when they were invited to be an exclusive Verizon Wireless Authorized Retailer. Along with his brother Joey, they steadily grew the business to 20 locations in 2009 with the majority of the locations in rural communities around Utah. The company was then awarded with the highest status among Verizon Wireless agents, "Premium Retailer". Growth continues as the company now has 30 locations in Utah, Nevada, Wyoming and Texas.
